It was just some few days back when Chelsea FC beat FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League to qualify for the round of 16. Who could have thought that Leicester city would cruise past Chelsea who were according to their fans “rediscovering their poor form”
This was not meant to be so as Leicester City cruised their way to victory in what was an emphatic win against current Premier League Champion holders, Chelsea. As predicted by many pundits, Vardy was at his very best as he opened the scoring chart as he slotted one past Courtois at the 34th minutes of the game.
Chelsea had their chances also but failed to convert their chances. Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic hit the cross bar, Costa lost some opportunities and the tale never ends.
Jose Mourinho admitted after the match that he felt betrayed by his players as they were not following his instructions
“We conceded two goals that are unacceptable for me. I know one of my best qualities is to read the game for my players, to identify every detail about the opponent,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“I feel that my work was betrayed. It’s difficult for us to score goals when you have players who are not in their best level. When you have some players, especially in crucial positions, it’s difficult.
This current loss, sees Chelsea move 16th on the Premier League table while Leicester City move top at the first position in the Premier League.
