APN Internet Settings: MTN, Airtel, GLO, Etisalat Network

This post will spell out the Internet browsing settings for MTN, Airtel, GLO and Etisalat, Nigeria’s top telecommunication networks. If you want to configure your phones manually to browse the internet, this post will provide all the necessary current browsing settings for data access, I.P address for MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and ETISALAT.

APN means Access Point Name which you must set to allow access to the various data service provided you by your preferred network in Nigeria. Although, the influx of android phones, I-phones and other good smart phones has made it easier for Data service providers in Nigeria to easily send these configuration settings to android devices, most phones still need the manual configuration settings to browse.

Major Telecommunications Network in Nigeria Data Settings

1. MTN Nigeria Browser Settings (currently works on android, blackberry &all devices)

  • Account Name = MTN GPRS.
  • IP Address = 10.199.212.2.
  • Port = 9201 (for WAP) or 8080 (for HTML)
  • Username = web
  • Password = web
  • Access Point Name (APN) = web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net

2. GLO GPRS Browsing Settings

  • APN: gloflat
  • Username: flat
  • Password: flat

OR

  • APN : glosecure
  • Username: secure
  • Password: secure

3. Etisalat Nigeria GPRS setting

  • APN: etisalat
  • Username: blank
  • Password: blank
  • IP/Proxy: 010.071.170.005

4. Airtel GPRS settings

  • Access Point Name: internet.ng.airtel.com
  • Username: internet
  • Password: internet
