APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Much more than a salad dressing
Every now and then I get obsessed with one thing or the other, last month I was obsessed with tretinion cream, hopefully I will share the reason for that obsession but right now, my current obsession is the apple cider vinegar, I use the Heinz product I couldn’t get my hands on the one made by Braggs with by popular opinion is the best but there is nothing wrong with Heinz if you have it. Growing up, my mother used to make our salad dressing with it and that was the only knowledge I had of it not until a bbm channel that I follow which is a channel for naturalists (natural hair sisters) talked about apple cider vinegar for hair and I am like what? Side eyeing the ACV in my kitchen like guy so you are a multi-purpose something eh? Really? You need to see the speed that I used to google all the points that the bbm channel was making and I was so shocked to the teeth. I discovered a lot, ACV is very effective and can be used for virtually a whole lot from hair to skin to house cleaning; ACV is so much more than a salad dressing. I will be sharing with you guys the benefits of using ACV and yes I have tried it a couple of times and it amazingly works.
Benefits of ACV
It can make your hair shine.
This is so true, my hair used to be faded sort of, I can’t explain it but it never seems to accept oil or cream when I apply it, it always feels I have not applied anything but since I started to use it, I have a testimony, my hair shines. So basically you use it as a rinse after shampooing your hair before you apply conditioner. I recommend recycling an old shampoo bottle, then filling it with ½ tablespoon of ACV and 1 cup of cold water. Pour the solution through your hair after shampooing.
ACV can detoxify your home.
In combination with other products, ACV is a good way of detoxify your home, we instantly decrease the consumption of unnatural chemicals in our homes and reduce the spread of germs
Natural ACV regulates the pH of your skin.
I am obsessed with tretinion cream, tretinion is a variant of vit A that is used to treat acne and spots, it is a prescription cream so see your doctor before you use it. Now on the part of ACV, I use ACV as my toner in place of rose water, what I do is dilute ACV with two parts water, and spread the concoction over your face. You can do this at night after washing, and in the morning before you apply your moisturizer. A dab of ACV can also be left on the skin overnight to fade age spots or acne scars. Yes, it works.
It’s also a recommended agent for warts. For warts, soak a cotton ball in ACV, then fasten the cotton ball over the wart with a Band-Aid overnight. The skin may swell some as it reacts with the solution. However, the wart will fall off. Once it falls off, the treatment should be continued for a few more days, to make sure the wart doesn’t return. It can also soothe sunburned skin all you need do is add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to your bath, and soak for 10 minutes to eliminate discomfort from sunburn
It can remove stains from teeth.
Rub teeth directly with apple cider vinegar, and rinse with water. Ok, I tried this and I vowed never to do it again, it felt like I was applying spirit to an open wound and I have zero tolerance for pain or anything that resembles pain (nods head in disagreement) no, never again.
ACV can be used as a natural aftershave.
Ladies, your husbands, your boyfriends, and your teenage sons can benefit here, if you ever run out of after shave or you just want to stick to natural products then ACV is the way to go. Just fill a bottle with equal parts apple cider vinegar and water, and shake before applying to the face after you must have had your shave.
ACV can aid in weight loss.
This is the one that really made me jump for joy, when I found out I was like ha! Time to eat without control, nobody can tell me not ot snack at night again, I mean if we weren’t meant to snack at night why the hell does the fridge come with light. Ok! Am kidding here oo, I am you eating habit should be in the breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper system to avoid over weight or having extra tyre tummy. But if you are like me and you have small spare tyre tummy or you just want to lose weight, try the ACV way, add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to 16 ounces of water. This concoction can be sipped throughout the day. Data shows some limited, yet significant, weight-loss benefits from sustained daily intake of acetic acid (which is a main ingredient in ACV). I have observed that ACV suppresses my appetite for food hence I tend to eat less and because I am sort of allergic to that acidic nature of Acv I take with straw hence the reason I said sip, so that it doesn’t come in contact with my gum so if you are like that you can use a straw too
ACV will balance your entire inner body system.
The body constantly strives to achieve a state of equilibrium. Apple cider vinegar helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Research shows that higher acid levels (lower pH level) lead to a lack of energy and higher incidences of infection. Hence, my desire to sip some a few times a day for a natural boost of energy.
It can help you detox.
As part of balancing the body’s pH, ACV creates an overall detoxification of the body. Research shows that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation and help detoxify the liver.
It can help your body get rid of candida.
This vinegar is rich in natural enzymes that can help rid your body of candida — yeasts that are attributed to thrush in humans. Candida is also blamed for creating symptoms of fatigue, poor memory, sugar cravings, and yeast infections.
it’s an all-natural room freshener.
ACV will clean your toilets and leave your bathroom smelling like apples! Just pour ACV into the toilet, and allow it to sit overnight. It can also be used in dishwashers as a substitute for dish detergent. Mix ½ cup of ACV with 1 cup water, and you can use this solution to clean microwaves, kitchen surfaces, windows, glasses, and mirrors, too.
