Biography of Humble Smith
Humble smith as his name denotes his humble beginning in life. The Osinachi crooner, real names are Ekenedilichukwu Ijemba. He was born on May 4, 1991 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Humble smith is the fourth son of eight children. His father was a stationery dealer while his mother was a teacher. He grew up struggling through life by doing menial jobs like hawking moi-moi and dancing just to augment his parents source of income.
After he completed his secondary school education in 2008, he relocated to Asaba, Delta State, to pursue a role in the movie industry. His stint with Nollywood debuted ‘Hypertension’ featuring Mr. Ibu and late Sam Loco of blessed memory.
Humblesmith was inspired by legendary highlife musician, Bright Chimezie, and became a professional artiste in 2008. He decided to focus on music because his parents could not afford to sponsor him to university.
Humble smith moved to Lagos in 2012 and got signed to N-Tyze Entertainment in 2014. His first single titled ‘Jamo’ was not an instant hit until ‘Osinachi’ was released in 2015 featuring Davido and indigenous Igbo rapper, Phyno. This brought him to limelight. His brand of music is inspirational.
He has released several singles including Chairmoo, Na you, Bugatti,Shoki, Love me, Jukwese featuring Flavour N’abania in 2016. The Headies Award nominated him as the ‘Rookie of the Year’ 2015.
Humblesmith graduated from the University of Lagos. He landed his first endorsement deal with Nigeria’s favourite noodle, Tummy-Tummy Instant Noodles.
