How to Improve Touchscreen Sensitivity on Android Smartphones

Tecno-g9-specs-review-and-price-nigeriaA common problem using an android smartphone or tablet is the loss of sensitivity on its screen. Whether it is an IPS screen, TFT or AMOLED screen, the problem is general in which users complain about touch response on such screens. Well, there could be several reasons why touch screen phones lose its screen touch sensitivity which I believe would be as a result of prolonged use or not upgrading the phone’s software. For the records, it is also a fact that advances in technology is inevitable as new gadgets with super screens are produced with improved better hardware.

Two culprits are either responsible for touch screen lack of sensitivity. These culprits or categories are SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE under which touchscreen failure or fault lies. For hardware problem, its best you take your device to a certified phone engineer or better if you are under hardware warranty, you can return to your manufacturer for replacement or repair. On the other hand, it could also be a software related problem which can be solved by either following any idea below

1- Regularly Updating Phone Firmware

When last did you check for the recent firmware for your phone? New and latest updates bring certain fix to errors of previous firmware versions and touch screen sensitivity is a part of it. It is advisable that we regularly check for recent updates as to when phone manufacturers release updates so as to install those updates to improve the performance of phone. If you are experiencing touch related problems on your new phone, you should check for the updates and if available, apply them. There are great chances that if problem is software related, the manufacturer if aware, might have released a solution for it.

2- Apply Calibration to Device

If you notice degrading touch sensitivity overtime, then there is need to recalibrate the touch screen which might fix such problems. Some phone manufacturers provide a calibration tool within the phone to do a recalibration of touchscreen which is easy. Just follow the instructions provided with calibration tool and get your device functioning properly.

3- Manage Load of Applications on Phone

Unwanted and heavy apps like games that people usually install are another culprit to touch screen slow response especially when loaded thereby causing freezing or restarts. To avoid such, install only necessary applications and exit the applications properly after using them. Do not let them keep running in the background as that will keep consuming available system resources. The users of both high end and medium range Android devices should also do the same for improving phone performance.

4- Clean the Touchscreen Frequently

Dusty and dirty touch screen phones are prone to hamper touch screen behavior. The layer of touch screen should be cleaned with soft material frequently. Keep the screen clean as much as possible to get more better and fluid performance on your device.

5- Use Thinner/Flexible Screen Protector

Every new phone I believe comes pre-installed with a screen protector while some phone manufacturers go the extra-mile in putting extra-protectors as a bonus for purchasing their product. Also, different kinds of screen protectors are available in markets. These screen protectors acts as shields protecting the main screen from scratches (depends on type) thereby prolonging touch screen life span.

Advice-If you buy a screen protector from the market, make it sure that It is not too thick or hard like slate. Thicker screen protector will give extra screen protection but may cause lags in touch inputs. Use good quality flexible screen protector to protect the touch screen of your smartphone and for optimum performance.

6- Avoid Hitting, Bending or Throwing Phone

Please, do not use your phone to hammer nails in wood or tap on doors or desks. They are not meant for that. If you put a huge smartphone in your tight jeans or trousers pocket, make sure you pull it out before sitting or kneeling down or your actions may bend and damage the phone or phone touch screen. Avoid throwing the phone or smashing it on floor as doing so might cause a hardware problem to your screen.

Hope this helps.
