Ayodele Fayose is the first on the list of most controversial politician in Nigeria. He is the current governor of Ekiti State and a vocal critic  of the APC and the Buhari led government. His political party is the PDP and he is also a very influential figure in his party and state.

2. Femi Fani-Kayode

Another controversial politician in Nigeria who openly criticizes the activities of the federal government and the ruling party. He was one time former Aviation Minister and has been involved with series of controversies in Nigerian politics. He is also involved in a number of court cases.

3. Lai Muhammed

He was formerly the APC spokesperson before he was made the Minister of Information in Nigeria. He is known for making contradictory statements.  He was a strong critic to former president Goodluck Jonathan.

4. Dino Melaye

He is among the richest politicians in Kogi state and is currently the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the Senate. His outburst on Senator Oluremi Tinubu in recent times is one of the most controversial case he was involved in.

5. Gov. Rochas Okorocha

Rochas has been involved in several controversial matters as a politician. He is one of the richest men in Imo state and is the governor of Imo State. He decamped from APGA to the APC. He also contested alongside with Buhari and Atiku for the All Progressive Congress Presidential ticket.
