Nigeria U23: Dream Team qualify for AFCON Semi Final

After playing a 0-0 draw against Algeria on Saturday, Nigeria U23s have qualified for the semi-final of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations.

The Dream Team needed only a draw to get over to the next round. Even if they had lost, they would have still gone through as Mali beat Egypt 1-0 in the group’s other match.

The draw, puts the Nigeria U23 Eagles in second place of the group. They will face Senegal in the semi-final, with Algeria facing South Africa.

It is expected that three teams qualify automatically for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games while the team that finish fourth will play a team from Asia in a play-off.
