1. Henrietta Kosoko

The wife of popular Nollywood veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, Henrietta was an actress who graced the TV screens of many in Nigeria. She was believed to have battled diabetes until her demise a week after her 52nd birthday on June 9, 2016.

2. Stephen Keshi

The big boss as he is fondly referred to. Former Super Eagles African Cup of Nations title winning coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi died of cardiac arrest at the age of 54 in the early hours of June 7, 2016.

3. OJB Jezreel

Popular Nigerian music producer and singer, Babatunde Okungbowa popularly known as OJB Jezreel, died at the young age of 49, after a relapse as a result of kidney transplant three years back.

4. Genevieve Nene

She was a fast rising Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nene, died May 3 after a brief illness.

5. Kudirat Ajimati

Died in Ogun state on November 15, 2016.

Popular Nollywood actress, Bukky Ajayi died July 6, 2016 at the age of 82 after battling with a heart-related disease.

7. Elder Maya

The renowned Nollywood actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya, died in October, 2016 after battling a liver-related ailment.

Popular comedian, singer and songwriter, Olumuyiwa Osinuga, popularly called Nomoreloss, died of typhoid fever on March, 21, 2016.

Nollywood young actor, Olamide David, who played the lead role in Foluke Daramola’s movie, Cobweb, died at age 14 on January, 18, 2016 after he was mistakenly kicked in the stomach by another player.

10. Jab Adu

Legendary Nollywood actor, born Joseph Adu and popularly known as Jab Adu, died at the age of 83 at his home town, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

11. Festus Aguebor

The movie legend, Festus Aguebor, died in his early 70s died after a brief illness on February 23, 2016.

12. Mike Odiachi

Veteran Nollywood actor, Mike Odiachi, popularly known for his role in ‘Igodo’ died at aged 51 after a brief illness.

13. Mulikat Adegbola

Renowned Yoruba thespian Mulikat Adegbola, most notably known by her stage name Ashabi Iya Adinni, kicked the bucket after a brief illness on December 3, 2016.

14. Alfa Lateef Itakure

Popular Yoruba Actor and Script writer, Alfa Lateef Itakure, famously known as Alfa Lati died after a brief illness in 2016.

15. Aisha Dan Kano

Popular Kannywood actress, Aisha Dan Kano, popularly called Sima died aged 40 in her house in Gwammaja area of Kano State on the 24th of February, 2016.

Notable Yoruba film maker and actor, Sikiru Adeshina, also known as Arakangudu, died on February 9 after reportedly making a noise in his sleep.
